I love to tell the story of Trochenbrod. It’s a fascinating story. Trochenbrod is a part of East European general and Jewish history, and yet is relatively unknown.
In my presentations I use slides, storytelling, readings, and music specially composed for Trochenbrod to recreate the vanished town and the unique world of Jewish life there. I also explain what it took to uncover the story of this hidden place, and some of the surprises that I discovered along the way.
The presentation takes about an hour, and is followed by Q&A and book signings of The Heavens Are Empty: Discovering the Lost Town of Trochenbrod.
